When you travel to a certain place, sometimes it is nice to do away with the usual tours offered by travel agencies and just hire a car rental service to bring you places.
Here in the Philippines, you have two set ups to choose from when you rent a car: self-drive or with a driver.
There are advantages or disadvantages with both and it really depends upon your needs.
With the self drive, you have more flexibility to go places. Armed with a map, you can take off anytime to wherever you want to go.
With the driver, you can have the convenience of somebody taking you around. This matters, though, if you have a big group and the driver’s seat could be an extra seat for your party. And well, like my friend for instance, she did not like having a particular hanging out with her, even if it is just a driver. She is so used to going by herself and driving her car in the United States that she also preferred the same set up during her vacation here.
In both instances, you will have to pay for the gas, but that is about it. Then you are free to travel around–as long as you have a map and a list of destinations.
Of course, the only hindrance here is if none in your group knows how to drive. Otherwise, hiring a car rental service will really help make your trip a memorable one.
