Remembering the Food Court of Takashimaya in Singapore

Takashimaya mall food court

A scene from the Takashimaya mall food court

When I was in Singapore, one of the malls that I frequented was the Takashimaya. It is a big mall that was quite upscale at that time (I am not sure about it now because I know that there are many new developments there now).

But you know why I went to Takashimaya? No it was not the shopping, as I did not really have a budget for it. I went there because of their food court! Okay, yeah I know, food is one of the reasons I travel. LOL

Anyway, I love their food court because it is an eclectic mix of different Asian flavors–Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese, Malaysian, and Indian. Each food stall is representative of a nationality. And a lot of what they are offering are street foods or snack items. But unlike when buying in the street, it is more sanitary here.

Another thing, I love the smell of the place! The fried stuff, the strong aromas—aaah…dizzying but appetizing. Too bad that I was alone on these food jaunts. I would have wanted my husband to be with me because he too, enjoys these gastronomic adventures. :D

I miss Singapore!

I can almost imagine eating at the food court you were talking about. I too enjoy eating different cuisines and would love to try all those food.
