In the past, I used to travel quite a lot. And when I do, I bring home a lot of goodies. It was just good though that the baggage allowance for domestic flights was still 20 kilos. And Philippine Airlines was not so strict with the overhead baggage.
But now, with all those promo fares coming out, you have the option to travel light (no check-in bags), to have their regular baggage (15 kgs), or to pay for additional baggage weight. Actually, this is good because at least those who travel light can pay for a fair fare.
However, if you want to add some more kilos for your baggage allowance, it can be a bit pricey. And if you expect to pay only such because you got a promo fare, it will not turn out very cheap if you have a lot of luggage.
The best thing to do if you plan to go burn the barcode scanner of stores and still enjoy the promo fare of airlines is to send is as sea freight or through the plane’s cargo. That way, you will pay less.
Or if you do not have a budget for excess baggage, just better take pictures and bring home memories–they are free.

The travel light promo definitely favors those who are on a tight budget. It’s a good thing that they have all these promos and most people can already afford them.
